Features

Everything else you'd have to build.

Suppression lists, webhooks, scheduling, team roles, audit logs, sandbox domains — the operational pieces around sending, already there.

Beyond the four pillars, Mailway ships the operational pieces teams otherwise build themselves: per-project suppression lists checked on every send, signed outbound webhooks with retries, scheduled sending, four team roles with per-project access, a team-wide audit log, and a captured-mail development sandbox.

Everything below is live unless marked otherwise — the "soon" tags mean exactly that. The product overview walks the pillars themselves, and the docs carry each feature's full contract.

Everything else

Also in the box

The small features that save entire afternoons — none of them require changing how your app sends email.

01

Smart routing & cost optimization

Failover for reliability: SES fails, SendGrid takes over. Round-robin for cost: spread volume across providers to maximize free tiers. Your strategy, your choice.

02

Delivery & bounce tracking

Real delivery status from your providers — delivered, bounced, complained — not just "accepted." Hard bounces auto-populate per-project suppression lists, checked on every send.

03

Email notary

Every email kept with raw MIME and DKIM signature, plus an Ed25519-signed proof-of-delivery certificate that verifies independently of Mailway.

04

Bring your own keys

Plug in API keys for SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark, Brevo, Mandrill, Gmail, or any SMTP provider. Mailway never sends from shared infrastructure.

05

Development sandbox

Point dev at smtp.mailway.dev — emails are captured and held without delivery. Inspect, debug, release or discard from the dashboard. Built-in staging.

06

Full observability

Search by subject, sender, recipient, or state. Full SMTP session logs, the complete delivery timeline, and per-project analytics.

Public email viewer

Share any sent email via a private mailway.to link. Unguessable tokens, optional expiry and password.

Proof-of-delivery certificate

Ed25519-signed certificate — content hash, provider acceptance, delivery event, RFC 3161 timestamp — verifiable by anyone.

HTTP send API

REST endpoint with bearer auth, idempotency keys, and batch send. Live for production keys, with a sandbox host for test keys.

DKIM signature validation

Mailway re-verifies the sender's DKIM signature on every message it relays and flags the verdict in the console — a real integrity proof, independent of Mailway.

Suppression lists

Auto-populated from hard bounces and complaints. Manual add and un-suppress from the dashboard.

Pause, resume & retry

Halt delivery per project instantly, release when ready, one-click retry of any failed send.

Two-factor authentication

TOTP and WebAuthn passkeys with recovery codes, plus team-wide 2FA enforcement.

Every port, every cloud

All 7 SMTP ports open with TLS — works on GCP, AWS, Azure, and restrictive networks.

Provider integrations

First-class API + SMTP bridges for 7 providers, plus a generic relay for any SMTP server.

Long-term retention

30 days to 1 year by plan, multi-year add-ons for SOX, HIPAA, and FINRA record-keeping.

Team activity log

Audit trail of every dashboard action, with four roles and per-project access control.

Domain-based routing

Route @gmail.com through SES, @outlook.com through SendGrid. Rules, no code.

Outbound webhooks

Signed, retried webhooks for delivery events — with a visible delivery log and replay.

Provider cost analyticssoon

What each provider actually costs you, side by side, from real usage.

Email scheduling

Accept an email now, deliver it later at a specific UTC timestamp.

Full-text searchsoon

Search across email content, not just metadata — find any message by what's inside.
